Cold Steel is a Californian based company which was founded in 1980 by Lynn Thompson. It is dedicated to making the strongest, sharpest knives in the world. Over the last three decades, Cold Steel has been at the forefront of the many innovations that have helped to define the knife industry as a whole. Progressive accomplishment, including the introduction of the checked Kraton® handles, and the tanto point blade styles have gone from curiously interesting features to industry-wide hallmarks of quality and sophistication.
New ground was also broken with the introduction of unique new blade steels like San Mai III® and Tri-Ad™ locking mechanism for folding knives. Tri-Ad™ Lock for example, has never been equalled by any of Cold Steel's competitors and nothing they have produced yet has been proven to outperform it.
Of course Cold Steel will always look to the future, constantly striving to make the world's strongest, sharpest knives. That goal as elusive and difficult to achieve as it is, has been the same for the past thirty years.
Lansky Sharpeners have been producing sharpening equipment way back in 1979. Arthur Lansky Levine was a medical student and prospective coroner and he was consistently disappointed by the sharpness of his surgical tools. He then set about tackling the challenge of marking a sharpener that anyone could use to get a razor sharp edge on his or her tools and knives, regardless of their sharpening experience.
A true American success story, Arthur developed the legendary controlled angle sharpening system and launched Arthur Lansky Levine & Associates out of his parents’ basement. Using contacts from his outdoor retail experience, Arthur started supplying his new system to outdoor retailers worldwide and the popularity of his sharpening system grew.
Lansky Steadily innovated new sharpening tools for outdoors, kitchen and the workshop, while keeping much of the production and assembly in the US. As the line continued to develop, so did the Lansky brand, reaching more retails stores and consumers, steadily becoming the most extensive line of sharpening equipment an d accessories found today.
35 years later, Lansky Sharpeners continues to honour Arthur’s legacy: to design, create and provide high quality tools that allow anyone, regardless of their experience, to sharpen their blades.

You may know KA-BAR from our high quality military, hunting, sporting, all-purpose utility, and outdoor survival knives. They've been making knives since 1898 and each knife undergoes unique manufacturing processes and testing to ensure corrosion resistance, strength, edge holding ability, and an out-of-the-box razor sharp cutting edge.
Their most famous knife is the USMC KA-BAR and it is an icon and a legend in the world of knives. It was one of the general issue knives to the United States Marine Corps in World War II and quickly gained popularity. This knife remains the first choice for many men and women of service who carry it as their personal option knife still today.
KA-BAR got its name in the early 1900’s when a fur trapper sent them testimonial. He wrote that while trapping, his gun jammed leaving him with only his knife to kill a wounded bear that was attacking him. He thanked us for making the quality knife that helped him to kill a bear, but all that was legible was "K a bar". Honoured by the testimonial, the company adopted the phrase KA-BAR as their trademark.
Camillus' history can be traced back to 1876, founded by Charles Sherwood in the village of Camillus, New York. During World War II, Camillus Knives worked with Marine Corps officers to develop what is now commonly known as the USMC Mark 2 Combat Knife. Later, in 1947, Camillus Knives went on to manufacture a range of folding knives for the Boy Scouts of America.
Today, under Camillus presents an innovative product range with its widespread use of titanium carbonitride coated blades. This surface treatment works at a molecular level, creating a blade that is 3x harder than untreated steel. Further innovations include the Lev-R-Lok and Cuda one handed opening mechanisms for folding knives.
